Tula's Vlog Diaries: Response to 6 Tips to Keep You Sane During An Uncomfortable Transition
It’s amazing how God will always find a way to bring you comfort when you are in a state of confusion. That’s what happened to me yesterday when I opened an email from Terri of Mocha Girls Pit Stop offering “6 Tips to Keep You Sane During An Uncomfortable Transition.” Instead of writing my response, I decided to do a diary Vlog to share my thoughts and what I took away from her story. [WATCH BELOW]
Read & watch what inspired me to record the above video:
Terri Mail: "Happy Women's History Month! Instead of writing a post this week I decided to record a spontaneous video in my living room sharing 6 Tips to Help You Stay Sane During an Uncomfortable Transition.
Over the past 6 months I've experienced a great deal of rejection, unforeseen challenges and opportunities that forced me to get outside of my comfort zone.
The video above is intentionally flawed.
You'll see me glancing over at my sticky notes to make sure that I remember the "title" or focus of my message
My husband unexpectedly walks in from his run and tries to distract me lol
I stumble over my words and lose my train of thought
I even make fun of myself... well my husband does and you can check that out here
My imperfections may not be a big deal to you, but I'm a recovering perfectionist and the fact that I'm sharing this far from perfect video with you, is my bold "F YOU" to perfectionism.
There are so many great ideas that I never shared for fear of being rejected or failing.
Perfectionism has stopped me from taking advantage of countless opportunities and I figured that Women's History Month, is as good a time as any, to embrace my authentic self, flaws and all.
I'm not perfect. I make mistakes. I fail. I get rejected but it's all a part of the journey. Today I encourage you to pursue excellence and leave perfection by the wayside."
I hope this touches at least one person, if so my job is done here :) XoXo - Tula
