Meet Myya D Jones: 22-year-old running for mayor of Detroit
Today for Women’s Month, we at TulaTalks Ent would like to honor Myya D Jones. Jones is the youngest African American woman to run for Mayor of Detroit. After dealing with many hardships in her early life from mental health disorders to physical trauma, Jones was able to
make it to Michigan State University where she studied business management. She would excel in both her studies and social activities becoming a Google Student Ambassador, intern for Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence (D-Mich) at Capitol Hill, and holding two positions on the board for the National Association of Black Accountants, just to name a few. Her love for her hometown is what lead to her wanting to become the Mayor of her city. We cannot wait to see Jones work for her city!
